How To Overcome Uncertainty with God's Power

We can trust and rely on God to overcome uncertainty in any situation.
Please turn to Proverbs 3:5
The housing economy had crashed, and my husband needed to find a new job. We had 3 small children, all under the age of five. There was a job opportunity in Colorado. How were we going to put food on the table? Where would we live? I heard that there are mountain lions, wildfires, and avalanches in Colorado. How will our family make it? I had never left the East Coast, and moving across the country to live in the Rocky Mountains was very uncertain for me.
How was I going to overcome all these uncertainties?
I trusted and relied on God, Who is all-knowing and all-powerful, to overcome my uncertainties.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct the path
I trusted God with all my heart that He would take care of me and my family living in the Rocky Mountains.
God is all-knowing and all-powerful; when we acknowledge him in all our ways and go to His Word first, in every situation, he will direct our path.
Psalm 147:5: "Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite."
God has great power, and His understanding is infinite-He knows everything.
We can trust and rely on God to overcome uncertainty in any situation.
Psalm 84:11,12:
For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
We will be blessed when we trust in God
Jeremiah 32:17:
Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.
God’s great power made the heaven and the earth, and there is nothing too hard for Him
We can trust and rely on God to overcome uncertainty in any situation.
We’ve seen that we can trust and rely on God because he is all-powerful and all-knowing.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says “in all thy ways acknowledge Him.”
How do we acknowledge God? Here are some examples.
studying - “OK God, let’s go, help me learn what I need to learn and see what I need to see”
Taking an exam - “ok God, thank you for me getting the best grade on this exam”
Making phone calls for work - “Thank you God for me getting 5 new clients today”
Going on a trip - “Thanks, God for a great trip and your hedge of protection around me and my family/friends as we travel.”
Going on a hike, going to the dentist…
Get the point? We just get God involved in our life and talk to him. He’s our heavenly father. He’s waiting to hear from us, and he wants to bless us, so we acknowledge him by going to him first in everything we do in all our ways.
We can trust and rely on God to overcome uncertainty in any situation.
Psalm 56:3:
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
We can trust and rely on God to overcome uncertainty in any situation.
Isaiah 12:2:
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
We can trust and rely on God to help us overcome uncertainty in any situation.
What are practical ways we can strengthen our trust in God to overcome uncertainty?
We can pray with our understanding that’s just talking to God with your own words anytime, day or night (Psalm 55:17) “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.”
We can speak in tongues. That’s perfect prayer to God. Romans 8:26-28 Even when you don’t know what to pray for, you can speak in tongues and pray perfectly to God.
We can look at other records in the Bible to see God‘s deliverance. This builds our believing. Like in the Old Testament when God delivered David from Goliath or the parting of the Red Sea, and in the New Testament, the man who was lame from birth walked, or the man who was blind was made to see
Graditude journal. If you have a journal where you write down all your blessings from the day, you can go back, read, and remind yourself of God’s deliverance in your own life
Say a bible verse over and over to yourself. 1 Tim 4:15 says Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
We can trust and rely on God to overcome uncertainty in any situation.
Tonight we’ve seen that no matter what comes up in our lives, no matter what situation is going on, we can overcome it with God’s power by trusting Him with all our hearts.
This week, I encourage you to trust and rely on God to overcome uncertainty in any situation.
God bless you. You are the best.
